From Project two titled 'Mortal Spring', we brought to you some excerpts from the book |

'The Double Dream Of Spring' By John Ashbery.

Featuring Photographer Naif Alquba' dazzling photographs, reflecting the mood of 'Mortal Spring'

It was Raining in the Capital

For spring had entered the capital
Walking on gigantic feet.
The smell of witch hazel indoors
Changed to narcissus in the street.

Bundles of new, fresh flowers,
All changing, pressing upward
To the distant office towers.

Spring Day

Just now floundering in the wind of its colossal death.
And whether it is Thursday, or the day is stormy,
With thunder and rain, or the birds attack each other,

The Double Dream Of Spring

 The Double Dream of Spring

perceived With half-parted lips
The way the breath of spring creeps up on you and floors you.
I had thought of all this year before
But now it was making no sense.
And the song had finished: This was the story.
